For Writers
Every few weeks she would shut herself up in her room, put on her scribbling suit, and fall into a vortex, as she expressed it, writing way at her novel with all her heart and soul, for till that was finished she could find no peace.

Here are some resources I’ve found extremely helpful during my years as a freelance writer and my journey to publication:
- AbsoluteWrite - THE forum for writers looking to blow off steam, flex their skills, and enjoy great community.
- AgentQuery – a one-stop shop for information on agents of all stripes. Remember…a reputable agent doesn’t charge up-front. Ever. Don’t fall scam to schemes involving paid editorial services or book packaging, pricey consultations or protestations that the big houses don’t take on debut writers. They do.
- Dr. Wicked’s Write Or Die – Up against an ugly deadline? Whip that sucker into submission with the help of this twisted writing tool.
- Ask Metafilter – Whether you need a burning question answered or just need a break, Ask Metafilter truly is the best of the Web.
- Freelance Writing Jobs – Deb Ng is one of the Net’s most helpful citizens, and her freelance writing site has become a must-see for anyone looking for job leads and information on the freelance life.
- 100 Useful Web Tools for Writers – I’m not so sure about their generic site design, but this page has directed me to some genuinely great resources.
- Escape from Cubicle Nation – It’s easy to dream about life beyond the cubicle, but how do you get there? It’s been years since I fled corporate life, but I still rely on Pamela Slim for inspiration and guidance as I wend my way through self-employment.
- Dear Literary Ladies – Learn the secrets of literature’s greatest female writers.
- Be Creative. Be Conscious. Be Courageous. - Christine Kane is all about “I can,” and so is her awesome blog.
- Original Impulse – Cynthia Morris helps artists and writers access their most creative life. I love reading about her impassioned travels and her own writing process.
Note: This page will be improving soon as I compile and share my favorite writers’ resources.
